Mr. Edwin Markham,
92 Waters Ave.,
West New Brighton, N.Y.
My dear Mr. Markham:
Your letter of the 2d received. Of course, what I wanted was to have an original poem for the Madison Square Garden meeting dedicated specially for the occasion and typifying our spirit. I have not seen your poem, “Russia Arise”, but if it has been printed anywhere it will not be as effective as a new poem for the September issue. The musical programme will be rendered by the following artists: Mme. Homer, Mme. Alda, Mischa Elman, Percy Grainger, Martinelli, De Luca, and either the Civic Orchestra with Monteaux or the Russian Symphony Orchestra with Altschuler.
Please let me hear from you.
Sincerely yours,
Misha Appelbaum
