Dear A.C.M.:
I thought my Epithalamion and Elegy was “first” one evening. I know it was. Shouldn’t it have been printed with the rest? Though I was in New York, I saw almost no one. I stayed away from everything – after that one Biltmore appearance. Am I stricken with desert-shyness? Me? Something.
Ever yours
Witter
