JEFFERSON BARRACKS
MISSOURI
Dear Prof Stoughton -
Thank you for your long enlightning letter. It was one of the best I have recieved scince being in camp and brought to me much interesting news..
Let me voice my opinion along with the countless number of others as to the many Ideas you have imparted to us. Your Ideas for allowing books to be sent out and also the address exchange is excellent and is approved by myself as a great thing. I shall of my first opportunity make use of these exclusive features.
I must certainly say that you have had a bit of excitement at Wagner. I can imagine how the Traditional Wagner Spirit rose to unite and efeat the seemingly hopeless task before it. It is that spirit that one acquires at Wagner that lives on in

him forever. It is that inhereted characteristic that has often stayed with me and spurred me on when times appeared dark.
Your reference plus a reference from one of the other profs were accepted by the board and I have been accepted. It is here that I might use and exert from your letter as of one from George Moyer. "That famous Air Corps physical is all taht stands in my path - I am not quite as sure of my passing a George but I feel reasonably sure of passing.
Due to an outbreak of spinal menengitis the camp has been quarantined and therefore the test has been canceled for a while. After it has been lifted I hope to leave for an airfield and from there to Air School.
So I wich to thank you for the Trouble I've caused you and may you have continued success in your polycies at Wagner.
Yours Scincerly
Alfred R. Novak
