CAMP FORREST, TENN.

Dear Prof,
The transcript and supplementary form reached me this evening along with your letter and kind recommendation.
I wish to thank you very much for this wonderful response, and for going out of your way to give my request your personal attention.
It is good to know that through these hectic days, the "Wagner Spirit" remains as of old - an intangible but vital force in our lives, which we all hold dear.
Of course, I hope my attempt to transfer to the Air Corps will be successful, for it will mean a great deal to me. [That famous Air Corps physical examination is all that stands in my path, but it is no small obstacle, as you undoubtedly know.] Pass or fail, I shall know that I have done my best to make the most of my opportunities, and I believe that is what counts.
My best personal regards to you and Mrs. Stoughton and all good wishes to the entire "Wagner Family."
Sincerely yours,
George R. Moyer
