Dear Dr. Stoughton:
I am now enjoying a few miutes of leisure and so think I should write you a few lines.
I was very pleased that you were able to talk with me for a few minutes last Wednesday. I was also very pleased with your apparent satisfaction with Dorothy Knight's work. She is the "pride and joy" of the family and I certainly want her to stay on the right track. As I told you, she does work under some handicaps at
[Page 2]
home. Perhaps I can appreciate those as well as anyone and so I talked with her about her school work etc.
If at any time there is any advice I can give her I shall do all in my power to make her follow it. The family, that is her folks, are not very enthusiastic about her present friendship with Cedric. I am not in a position to judge him, but hope she is not "swept off her feet" by him. As near as I can observe the family hopes it comes to nothing.
I want to say again that I enjoyed our visit and I hope to see you later. I shall check up on Dorothy frequently and I know you will advise her if the conditions warrent.
Sincerely yours
Ted
