Text

December 1944
Dear Dr. and Mrs. Stoughton,
I’m very glad to hear of Jean’s active service, and that she is happy and enthusiastic. She is serving her country well.
I am now out here in the hill billy hills of Arkansas, getting my seventeen week training in the infantry.
Mother and Dad are quite happy and in good health.
May I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.
Sincerely,
Roland
