Dear Prof,
Thanks ever so much for the copies of the Wagnerian, and also for the Bulletin which you sent on to me. They finally reached me after being sent to several places where I had been.
I have now been assigned to a training battalion here – shall probably stay for a while – although one never knows in the Army. My work is intensely interesting — there is something new each day or some new problem of one of the men in my platoon which has to be settled. All the different jobs that go with being leader of a training platoon keep me busy, but I feel it a wonderful experience.
I should like to continue getting the Wagnerian and the Bulletin from time to time so I’m enclosing my new address – it’s Lt. P.H. Elstad, Battery A. 4th Battalion, Fort Eustis, Virginia.
Harry Montgomery wrote me and sent on his address, so for the record, here is his — Harry Montgomery, Chaplain, 601st F.A. Btn (Pack) Camp Carson Colorado.
Sincerely,
Howard
