Philippine Islands
3 April 1945
Dear Prof:
A few days ago the February issue of the Bulletin caught up with me and with a feeling mixed with pride and surprise I read of your appointment to the Stewardship Secretary of the U.L.C.A. I am proud, not for myself, but for Wagner that you were called and I was surprised for I have learned to think of the names “Stoughton” and “Wagner” as synonymous. That you must leave I am sorry.
Accept my congratulations and since I will not be in a position to bid you adieu on July 1st I must use this means to say to you and Mrs. Stoughton, “Good bye and good luck”.
Sincerely,
Irving Green, ‘37
